Waleed Akram is the President of the U.S. Pakistan Business Alliance (USPBA) and an MBA Candidate at the Yale School of Management. A proud University of Maryland alumnus, Waleed’s journey embodies resilience, innovation, and a global perspective.
Born in Pakistan and raised in the Washington, D.C. metro area, he grew up in a multilingual immigrant household that instilled in him a deep appreciation for cultural diversity and collaboration. His professional career spans technology, business strategy, private equity operations, and entrepreneurship, with nearly a decade as a Partner at Metro Management Group, leading operations across hospitality, construction, and facilities management.
Beyond his corporate career, Waleed is the Founder of the Hunger Relief Foundation, a nonprofit that has distributed over 1.25 million meals globally, with active chapters in Pakistan and upcoming expansions in El Salvador and Canada.
As President of USPBA, Waleed champions the mission of strengthening bilateral trade, investment, and economic collaboration between the United States and Pakistan, bridging borders through commerce, innovation, and social impact.
